Steamed Rib Tips with Rice in Leaves
I meant to cook rib tips with rice. But when I started eating, I think I should use less rib tips and more rice, maybe some vegetables, too.
Ingredients: rib tips, rice, indicalamus leaf, green onion, seasoning.
Method: 1. Soak indicalamus leaf into water. 2. Soak rice into water. 3. Chop rib tips into small pieces, mix with seasoning, set aside for at least 2 hours. I did about 3 hours, and soaked rice and leaves 3 hours, too. Seasoning I used: soybean oil, vinegar, cooking wine, black pepper, sugar, salt, ginger powder, garlic powder. 4. Take indicalamus leaf out of water, brush to clean, rinse, then drain. 5. Lay one leaf on a deep plate, then put the rest of leaves on top of it, rotate 90 degree and one on top of another. 6. Mix a little bit oil with rib tips. If you like, melted butter would be better. 7. Drain rice, then mix with rib tips, spoon on top of leaves. 8. Fold leaves to cover, as tight as you can. 9. Steam for at least 2 hours. I steamed 3 hours. 10. Chop green onion into small pieces. 11. After taking rice out of steamer, unfold leaves, then sprinkle chopped green onion on rice, mix well. 12. Serve when hot.
If you don't have the indicalamus leaf, you can skip it, then wrap the plate with plastic wrap, then steam.
