I found this recipe from one of my cooking books. I fell in love with the look, so I decided to give it a try. It does taste good, I will start trying similar recipes.
Ingredients: Dough: 4oz (225 gram) room temperature butter, 4oz (225 gram) room temperature cream cheese, 8oz (225 gram) all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp sugar. Filling and Topping: 1 egg white, 4oz (225 gram) finely chopped almond, 2oz (60 gram) light brown sugar, 1 tsb ground cinnamon, 2 tsb honey.
Method: 1. Beat butter, cream cheese and sugar until soft. 2. Sift over flour and conbine into a ball. 3. Divide Ball into two equal pieces, wrap with plastic wrap, refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
5. Mix egg white with honey and 1 tbsp water, beat well. 6. Preheat oven to 390 degree. 7. Roll each dough into a 11-inch-circle, brush with egg white mixture, then sprinkle with almond mixture. Leave a little bit egg white mixture and almond mixture for future use. 8. Cut circle into quarters, then cut each quarter into 4 sections, to form 16 triangles. 9. Roll each triangle into a spiral. 10. Brush spiral with left over egg white mixture, then sprinkle with almond mixture. 11. Bake 15-20 minutes for until lightly golden brown, transfer to cooling rack to cool.
