Shortbread CookieShortbread Cookie

 

This is a not-so-sweet cookie recipe. But I don't think my oven temperature is right, I might have to drop it down a little bit.

 

Ingredients:

3/4 pound unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup sugar and extra for sprinkle.

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

 

Method:

1. Mix flour and salt.

2. Mix butter, sugar and vanilla extract.

Just mix, don't over beat.

3. Mix flour and butter mixture, just until the dough starts to get together.

4. Shape the dough into a long strip, wrap in plastic wrap, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

5. Preheat oven to 350 degree.

6. Cut the dough into thick pieces, place on ungreased baking sheet.

7. Sprinkle with sugar, then bake about 20 minutes.
