Twisted Bread with Grape Jelly
Playing with dough is my favorite part when baking bread. Shaping dough is always fun to me, so I hardly make the regular looking dinner rolls.
Ingredients: Dough: 1 cup warm milk Filling: grape jelly Topping: beaten egg, black sesame seed
Method: 1. Mix yeast and sugar, then add milk, set aside for several minutes until you see lots of bubbles on top. 2. Add egg to yeast mixture, mix . You can set some egg aside for topping. 3. Mix flour and salt, then add to egg mixture, form a dough. 4. Add shortening to dough, knead until dough's smooth, set aside until size doubled. 5. Pouch dough down, set aside for about 10 minutes. 6. Seperate dough into 12 equal pieces. 7. Take one piece, roll into an oval, brush jelly on top, then roll it up. 8. Cut the roll from center, then twist the two pieces together, transfer to baking pan. 9. Repeat until all the dough's done, set aside until size doubled. 10. Preheat oven to 350 degree. 11. Brush roll with beaten egg, then sprinkle sesame seed. 12. Bake for about 15 minutes or until bread's golden brown. 13. Let bread cool a little bit before serve.
